Diesel fuel (Gasolea) is the cheapest fuel and is available everywhere together with unleaded petrol (Sin Plomo). The dearest source of fuel are the stations on the autopista (motorway). There are self service stations but many have an attendant to serve you. The spanish for fill the tank is lleno.

There are two types of motorways in Spain, autopistas which are toll roads (peatge) and autovias which are motorways built to replace the N roads and are toll free.

The N roads (Nacional) are usually well maintained, fairly straight, some are dual carriageway and may link to an autovia.

The C (Comarcales) roads are the secondary roads.

Other roads are numbered and prefixed by the letter(s) representing the Province.
